Dr. Brian Paxton, PT

As a Physical Therapist with over 15 years in practice, I've developed an eclectic approach to the treatment of pain and injury, utilizing only the best techniques in the industry. My practice is focused on identifying the root causes of pain, correcting that dysfunction and ensuring long-term success through patient education. I’m determined to return my patients and athletes to their prior level of function as quickly as possible, and keep them that way!
A Distinctive Approach
1. Determine the Root Cause...
2. Remedy It...
3. Educate...
My first step in the treatment of any pain is identifying its root cause. My evaluation not only looks at current symptoms, but digs deeper to identify the underlying dysfunctional compensation. Without this critical step, therapy will only treat symptoms... oftentimes for years! This diagnostic is essential for true resolution of pain and long-term success.
Once the root cause is identified, I get right to work fixing the dysfunction. At this point I use an array of manual therapy techniques...or as I like to call it, "My Toolbox". I select techniques based on the client's individualized needs, utilizing only those that will effect a speedy resolution of pain and a return to full range of motion.
After I've determined the cause and eased pain, patient education is the third component of my treatment. My goal is to teach patients how to maintain their pain-free status and also prevent future injury. I am just as much an educator as a manual therapist - both are important for long term success. And a pain free patient is my best advertisement!
